Mr. Michael Williamson is the Section Chief of the Energy Division at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). He leads regional cooperation initiatives on sustainable energy across ESCAP’s 53 member countries, focusing on intergovernmental collaboration, technical assistance, and knowledge development.

Previously, he served as Acting Director of ESCAP’s Subregional Office for South and South West Asia, overseeing programmes across 10 countries. With over 25 years of experience spanning the private sector, government, and international organisations, his work centers on sustainable development, energy, technology, and climate change.
