Mr. Srinivasa Popuri
Chief, UN-Habitat Multi-Country Office (MCO)
Mr. Srinivasa Popuri is the Chief of the UN-Habitat Multi-Country Office (MCO), overseeing programmes across South and South East Asia. He has over 30 years of professional experience in the field of human settlements, including more than 25 years with the United Nations across Asia and the Pacific, following five years of service with the Government of India and various international organizations. As head of UN-Habitat in several countries including Afghanistan, Myanmar, Indonesia and the Maldives, he spearheaded the “people’s process” of post-crisis recovery and reconstruction efforts following conflict and natural disasters. His work focuses on improving living standards by advocating for policies that enable the poor and vulnerable to secure rights to land, shelter and essential services, with reduced reliance on resettlement.
